Since a significant amount of your utility costs arise from heating the water in your home, it makes sense to lower your usage by capturing the sun’s heat. Solar thermal technology is not new, but is only now starting to catch on in the United States. Many European countries have been enjoying solar thermal for their hot water for decades. It is also useful as a secondary heat source in radiant flooring.

Geothermal Heat Pumps

Geothermal HVAC technology refers to Ground and Water Source heat pumps. Geothermal technology works similarly to Heat Pumps, but it uses the consistency of the ground temperature a few feet deep to supply or remove heat from your home. Because the ground temperature fluctuates relatively little, these systems are effective year-round and don’t require a back-up heat source in cold climates. Geothermal includes water-source because the pipes can be laid in a pond or lake if it is close enough to the building.

Qualifying Geothermal Heat Pumps offer 30% Tax Credits with no cap or limit! There are various ways Geothermal can be implemented, but it’s not the right fit for every home. Want to learn if its right for you? Call 847.847.2207 or Contact Us now.
